Mount Rinjani
Mount Rinjani is an active volcano in Indonesia on the island of Lombok. It's the second-highest volcano (3726m) in Indonesia.
There are 2 main routes to conquer Mount Rinjani, via Sembalun or Senaru. We did a 3 day 2 night trip via Sembalun route. The route covers from the western to the eastern region. We started from Sembalun and reached the key viewing area of Sembalun Crater Rim, Summit, Lake, Senaru Crater Rim and down to Senaru base. It is recommended to have your basic fitness established unless you go for more days or shorter route.

Porters hike the mountain day in day out in flip flops and 20-30kg load on their shoulders.

The area is amazingly beautiful, from the hike to the view but I will only give it 8.5 out of 10. The major problem there is the rubbish the hiker or guide/porters left behind. Please go for the tour/guide that will bring down their trash instead of just throwing it there. It will make a difference.
